The Ghosts Within opens at klpac in Sentul Park on Thursday 12 November and runs through Sunday 15 November. Evening shows start at 8pm with 3pm matinees on Saturday and Sunday. The Taiwan-Malaysia co-production reimagines Ibsen’s Ghosts inside an Asian family, performed in Mandarin with English surtitles. Playwright Chien Li-Ying wrote the script and Loh Kok Man directs.
What to expect
Pentas Project and W Productions present the 90-minute piece with no intermission. The cast works through a single continuous act that moves between past and present inside a family home. TECO Malaysia and Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture support the production. English surtitles run above the stage for the Mandarin dialogue.
Tickets and how to attend
Tickets are sold only through CloudJoi. Regular seats cost RM88, VIP seats RM128 and a group bundle of four tickets is RM300. Resale or unofficial tickets may be refused at the gate. The venue opens its doors ahead of each showtime; latecomers will be admitted at a suitable break.
Getting there
From central Kuala Lumpur, a Grab ride to klpac takes about 15 to 20 minutes, longer during rush hour. The centre sits inside Sentul Park, a quiet green enclave north of the city centre. Ask the driver to drop you at klpac, Sentul Park. After an evening show, book the return ride as the audience leaves; cars arrive quickly from central KL.
